Starting with the Fall of 2024, the MIT Marching Band initiated a new tradition of keeping records of all the athletic + miscellaneous events it attended throughout the semester. Below, please find the records for each semester! Regardless of the results reported below, the MIT Marching Band ALWAYS wins!
Spring 2025
Summary: 2 basketball games, 1 performance at Artsfinity, and 1 performance at the New Vassar dining hall! 0 Ws, 2 Ls overall.
Event: Basketball.
Date: February 5, 2025.
Opponent: Emerson College.
Score: L, 72-82.

Note: This score could be considered a technical tie. And yes, Momo did take a little nap during the game.
Event: Performance at Artsfinity.
Date: March 1, 2025.
Note: We were invited to be part of the inaugural Artsfinity at MIT, a series of events that brought different artistic groups on campus together! March 1st marks the day we marched for the first time!
Event: St. Patrick’s Day Performance at the New Vassar dining hall.
Date: March 17, 2025.
Note: As part of St. Patrick’s Day celebration on campus, the dining hall team at New Vassar invited us to play some songs for students during dinner time. Here is a picture of the band dinner that followed after!
IAP 2025
Summary: 2 basketball games, and 1 integration bee! 0 Ws, 2 Ls, so not the best start to the year.
Event: Basketball.
Date: January 21, 2025.
Opponent: Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Score: L, 67-104.
Note: Tough loss for the basketball team, but a win for the band, which that day had not one, but two trombones!
Event: Integration Bee.
Date: January 22, 2025.
Note: For the 44th Annual MIT Integration Bee, we decided to surprise our peer MIT mathematicians by playing some music before the start of the championship and between rounds. It was fun to learn a thing or two about integration!
Event: Basketball.
Date: January 25, 2025.
Opponent: Springfield College.
Score: L, 63-75.
Note: If not for basketball, people come to the Rockwell cage to see the band play!
Fall 2024
Summary: 3 football games, 2 basketball games, and 1 waterpolo games. 3 Ws, 3 Ls, so not bad at all!
Event: Football.
Date: October 5, 2024.
Opponent: Coast Guard.
Score: L, 19-21.
Note: Yes, that is no other than MIT president Sally Kornbluth coming to watch us play!
Event: Football.
Date: October 12, 2024.
Opponent: United States Merchant Marine Academy.
Score: L, 0-21.
Note: No picture was taken in this game, but here is one from our rehearsal on October 2, 2024 with Aaron Aaker, our biggest advocate in the Athletics department! He has been instrumental in helping get the band play again at MIT sporting events!

Date: November 9, 2024.
Opponent: LIU.
Score: W, 18-10.
Note: To our knowledge, we may be among the few bands (if any) in the country to have ever played at a waterpolo game! We had time to kill before the game, so here you can see us running at the Z’s track field!
